Excerpts for New Book

 

 


    

     The gate rattled violently, sending shockwaves through Rachael’s slender body. Desperately and with an immeasurable conviction, she fervently attempted to pry it open. As the latch remained unlocked, the door should have flown open, but it simply wouldn’t budge. 
     “Rachael—help me, help me,” screamed her younger brother, Andrew, repeatedly. His arms flailed wildly as he desperately tried to stay afloat in the backyard swimming pool. Trapped behind the gate, Rachael stood helplessly unable to reach him.

anic set in. 
     “The door is stuck. I can’t open it,” she cried out, still attempting to pull it open. 
     “Help…help me…I’m being pulled…”  

 


 

     He moved ever so swiftly with such alarming speed, seemingly appearing to possess no actual body mass. Anyone watching would adamantly swear that the figure literally glided across the floor, barely touching the surface. It would be a fair statement to state that such movements were not conducive to that of humans. 
     He preferred to dwell in utter darkness, much like his dark being, and didn’t bother to switch on the light. It wouldn’t have made much of a difference anyway, since the light bulb was of such low wattage that the room stood only one notch above complete darkness. The walls had even been painted black. The door to his study had always remained locked. No one else had ever entered inside.
